Alarm bells about Kirstie's marriage as she gets cosy with Travolta.

Cheers star Kirstie Alley and her husband Parker Stevenson have become virtual  strangers in their sprawling 30-room estate, says the couple's closest friends.  Things are becoming so icy, they're even sleeping in separate bedrooms, according to L.A gossip columnist Mitchell Fink.

"Their marriage appears headed for the scrap heap," an insider adds.  To make matters worse, Parker is jealous about Kirstie's relationship with John Travolta, her co-star in the new hit movie Look Who's Talking.  "Parker watched some of the filming and got embarrassed watching John make his wife melt in his arms.  He's a real jealous sort of guy," says a source on the set.

Kirstie admits John got her warmed up for the movie's romantic scenes after  a cool start:  "John said 'Kirstie, you kiss like somebody's neighbour.  You gotta loosen up a little bit'.   Kirstie practised and the scenes were perfect.  But it upset her husband."

At the Hollywood premiere of Look Who's Talking, Kirstie arrived with Parker, but quickly hooked up with her co-star.  Meanwhile, John says Kirstie has become his "very best" friend - and he even stayed with her and Parker at their estate.  Kirstie has warned her husband - who was in Australia this year to co-star in All The Rivers Run II - that if he's away at work for more than three weeks at a time, the temptation to cheat gets strong.  "It's kind of like being on a diet," she says.  "If someone dangles a doughnut in front of your face, you're tempted to nibble."

Kirstie will be away working soon - she's heading for London to shoot Blake Edward's movie Switch.  The insider says: "With Parker busy on his show Baywatch, the two really don't find much time for one another.  They don't seem to care."

Kirstie's publicist, Jim Dobson, denies that Kirstie and Parker are having problems in their marriage.
